Funeral Details:

Requiem Mass at Wardour Chapel

Time:- 1 pm

Wardour Castle

 Tisbury

 Wiltshire

 SP3 6RH

It is not immediately apparent that there is a Chapel at Wardour as it is contained within the main building. There is no parking outside the house although you can drop off anyone who may have difficulty walking. The car park is to the right hand fork of the drive and a short walk from the house and Chapel.

After the Mass

We hope you can join us at The Greyhound Inn, 4 Market Place, Wilton, Salisbury SP2 0HT between 2pm and 5.30 pm.

There is limited parking at the Greyhound and in the Market Place. There is some street parking on South Street and at the Thomas Herbert Hall, South Street Wilton SP2 0JS which is a 2 minute walk from the Market Place. If everything looks full you can try the large car park  within The Guild Shopping Village, King St, Wilton, Salisbury SP2 0RS which is on the right as you enter Wilton leaving the A36, or on the left as you leave Wilton heading towards the A36.

We should be grateful for no flowers.

Should you wish you can make a donation. Two organisations close to Tom’s heart were:-

Tom Putnam 1955 - 2023

Tom died in his sleep peacefully at home.

Tom was a fantastic suppoirter of Devizes Rugby Club since he and his wife Sheelagh moved to Devizes a few years ago.

Behind the scenes he supported the committee as being a Barrister by trade has helped guide the transition from the Sports Club to Rugby being in control of the clubhouse.

He would also be seen regularly on the touchline supporting the teams or in the bar with a glass or two of Red wine!!!

As a life long Harlequins supporter he would also be seen at the Stoop meeting old friends.

Tom also enjoyed shooting and fishing and was very active in the open access movement campaigning for aceess to the waterways and fighting aginst the sewage disposal in our waterways

He was a great family man and enjoyed regular time with his Grandchildren.

Speaking on Tom Sheelagh said they they were really pleased when moving to Devizes how welcoming the Rugby Club was and the great people there.

Chris Jones President said "Tom was a great sounding board for the committee and had a super outlook on life he will be sorely missed"

As Devizes RFC Tom we thank you
